My journey into Sacred Geometry began about 20 years ago when I studied mandalas with Judith Cornell, author of the incredible book, Mandala. Drawing with sacred circles was so compelling and inspiring that I extended my study with Judith from 2 days to a whole week. My passion for drawing and teaching this beautiful process has continued ever since then! I love working with the color and the circles and the insights I gain. I feel at peace and centered in myself when drawing with circles. Mandala is a sanskrit word for circle. Circles are a tool for self-knowledge, meditation, healing, and expanding our consciousness. They have been used by ancient cultures for centuries in their sacred art, medicine shields, in nature, and numerous other ways. When we draw or write within a circular shape, amazing symbols and messages begin to emerge from our inner eye and inner wisdom. Exploring the circle you can discover your soul's true nature. Circles can be overlapped over and over to create new shapes as in the ancient Seed of Life or Flower of Life discovered by Leonardo daVinci. Or simply overlapping two circles creates a common space between them. This geometry is called the Vesica Piscis. It can represent cooperation, shared wisdom, joining, synergy, common ground or whatever you see in it. Try it for yourself. Very simply trace a circular bowl or use a compass. Try overlapping the same size circles in different ways. Try drawing inside of one circle and see how it feels. Then please let us know what you experienced. |
